Australia boasts the most efficient rice production system in the world. We create the highest yields of medium grain rice, using least amount of water (50% less). I did get this information from Sunrice though.
Another efficient rice method is SRI - system of rice intensification. Currently, we are teaching women and men in developing countries to use this method to increase yields. It is a dry method as opposed to the wet one.
